VENICE, Sept 11 (Reuters) – Childhood pals and Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon reported teaming up once more to create “The Previous Duel”, Ridley Scott’s film about rape and justice in medieval France, was earlier mentioned all a ton of exciting.
The movie, which premiered at the Venice Movie Festival, tells the accurate tale of the previous lawful duel in 14th century France, where by two knights squared off in the belief that the end result of their fight would reveal the truth of the matter powering a noblewoman’s assert that she was raped.
Damon and Affleck, who also star in the movie, co-wrote the script, the very first time the two actors have labored on a screenplay collectively considering that “Great Will Hunting”, which gained them an Oscar in 1997 and catapulted two unknown 20-somethings into Hollywood fame.

Damon stars as Jean de Carrouges, fighting to avenge the rape of his spouse Marguerite and restore his family’s honour by demanding her alleged attacker Jacques Le Gris, performed by Adam Driver, to a duel.
The movie is divided in three chapters, prepared from every of the a few protagonists’ perspectives, with the woman’s point of perspective penned by U.S. director and screenwriter Nicole Holofcener.
