Powell Higher University volleyball group hosts exciting run fundraiser

Powellites and Powell High School alumni of all ages woke up early Saturday morning to raise revenue for the Panther volleyball squad.

The team hosted the Orange and Black Fun Run at 7:15 a.m., with all proceeds benefiting the application amid the latest spending budget cuts. The race, which begun and finished at the American Legion, was a 5K for runners and a 2K for walkers. 

“This group came to assistance a community occasion and even donated more than just the entry fee,” organizer Jess Campbell reported. “It was a fantastic achievements and the Lady Panthers previously have designs to make it even larger and far better future yr!”

The route for the 5K went all-around town in a unique route, with PHS volleyball gamers distribute throughout multiple spots to be certain that runners stayed on the study course. Additional than 40 men and women — runners and walkers — participated in the early morning entertaining run.

In advance of the 2021 year, it was a wonderful chance for the team to immerse by itself in the group.

PHS senior Daniel Merritt received the general and boys’ races, even though Brynn Hillman and Kabrie Cannon were the best girls’ finishers.
